Exterior House & Cabin Painting and Staining
We paint and stain homes and cabins across Sonora, Twain Harte, Pinecrest, and the Highway 108 corridor. Foothill and mountain exteriors take a beating from UV, snow load, and wide temperature swings — our prep and product choices are built for it.
Built for foothill and mountain weather
South- and west-facing walls at elevation fade and chalk faster than most homeowners expect. We spec coatings rated for high-UV exposure, back-brush stain into log and lap siding for penetration, and prioritize failing elevations first when a full repaint isn't in the budget.
Prep is most of the job
Pressure washing, scraping, sanding, spot-priming bare wood, replacing failed caulk, and minor dry-rot and trim repair. A repaint over poor prep fails in two to three seasons; done right, exterior paint in this climate lasts 7–10 years and stain 3–5.
Paint or stain?
Milled siding and trim usually take paint. Log, timber, cedar, and rough-sawn cabin siding usually do better with a penetrating semi-transparent stain that lets the wood breathe and is far easier to recoat. We'll walk your exterior and tell you which your home actually needs.
